THEATRE Classes 4 - 6 yrs. Creative Theatre (60 min.) This class teaches children to project while becoming confident in their voice through vocal exercises, creative movement, and instrument recognition. Improvisation stimulates imagery, character development, teamwork, and socialization.
5 - 7 yrs. Musical Theatre/Acting (60 min.) In the Musical Theatre portion of class, emphasis is on increasing ear training and vocal projection while dancing. In the Acting portion of class, students study spatial awareness, script memorization and scene development.
8 and up Acting Technique (60 min.) Emphasis is placed on interactive skills through improvisation, scene partners, and ensemble work. This class encourages character development, comedic and dramatic staging, and memorization. Acting ignites imagination and develops confidence and self awareness.
7 and up Musical Theatre (60 min.) Dance, acting and vocalization combine to create musical theatre which allows students to move through basic dance sequences while projecting to the audience through song. An essential movement class for any aspiring theatre student.
THEATRE Private Lessons
Comedy, Drama, Monologues, Improvisational Skills Students may be interested in private lessons to work on specific skills or catch up on missed classes. Private lessons allow students to perfect comic or dramatic monologues which aid in auditions. We also offer School of the Arts preparation workshops (see Additional Programs). Actors tap into what is unique about them, allowing their self-confidence to blossom. Private lessons are scheduled individually according to availability.
